Today's creations

I finished another quilt top today. It was the class by Magic Cat Quilt Shop owner Anita Chaisty. The name of the pattern is New Year's Star by Deb Tucker. I went with different color than I usually used.
I changed the border from the original pattern. I like it better. I will start quilting it soon. I may enter it in our quilt show too. Depends on how the quilting goes.

I also made a block for the block exchange at my next guild meeting. It is a free pattern from Carol Doak.
It was a great weekend. Got a pedicure too!

A finished piece

Except for the label, this quilt is finished.
This pattern is by Deb Karasik. I took a class from her back in November here in town. The fabric is from Stipples, Etc and includes hand dyes by owner, Wendy. I love this quilt. I am going to enter it in our quilt show.  It won't win anything but I think it is important to enter something in the show. Not every quilt in a show needs to be an award winner. Most of us don't make award winning quilts. We make quilts we like. I know when I attend quilt shows I enjoy all the quilts not just the ones who have ribbons on them. I am so happy with the way this turned out. It will hang proudly in my office after the quilt show. The pattern name is "Ringo Star" so I named my quilt "With A Little Help From My Friends". A song by Ringo Starr. Think anyone will get it?

Quilts displayed at Fine Arts Blount

The FAC (Fiber Arts Chicks) are having their final display at Fine Arts Blount.
These are the quilts we made. Each person started with a twelve inch block and we traded a couple of time with people adding to the original block. Mine is the bottom left. We are all donating them to our quilt guild. They will be sold to raise money for our guild.
Another wall show some other quilts we made.

Mine is on the right. It is made from a "Wicked" t-shirt.

It is always fun to have your work displayed.

Another quilt class

The other class I took in Pigeon Forge was from Anita Chaisty of Magic Cat Quilt Shop. I saw the pattern last October at the Tellico Village quilt show. Anita told me she was teaching a class on it, so I signed up. It is a called the New Year's Star. It is made using special rulers by Deb Tucker. I finished my blocks.
I hope to get it sewn together tomorrow.

Painting Faces

Yesterday at the Pigeon Forge Quiltfest, I took a class from Bonnie McCaffery. It was to learn how to paint faces on fabric. I was very nervous about the class. I have done a little bit of painting and some drawing but I have never tried a face. Bonnie was a great teacher. We went step by step and her technique made it seem easy. I was very happy with the results.

Fiber Art Chick quilt

Tomorrow I have to deliver my finished small quilt that I did with members of the Fiber Art Chicks. We started with a 12 inch block we made. Here is mine.
We passed our block around and each person added something to it. When I got it back, I wasn't crazy about it. So I cut it up and here is my finished small quilt.

2015 Quilt Show ribbon

Here is my ribbon for my quilt guild's 2015 show. I was asked to make the ribbon for the winner of the novice category.

I will post the finished ribbon.

Let's see if I ever finish this

I want to document my progress on this. I started it on Monday, March 9th, 2015. There are 12 of these pictures on the panel. I don't remember where or when I bought it but if I finish it I think I will make it into a quilt.

Baby pictures

I have posted pictures of the things I made for Mason James but here are pictures with him in them.
Isn't he adorable?
