Wet Felting Vessel Day

Saturday, May 20th my friends (Marian, Nancy, Gina and Mary) and I got together to wet felt some vessels. Nancy and I took a class at the Fiber Arts Festival and wanted to show everyone else what we learned. We started at 10 am and didn't stop until 5. It was such a fun day. I got 4 made. Two of them I used 2 resists. They turned out okay. We are planning another one as soon as I am able. (having my back surgery in 2 weeks. :()
This was two resist using an oblong resists. This was my first try at 2 resist. It looks very arty in person. It is not very sturdy, however. I think I need to rewet it and felt some more.

This was a small square resist. This white is a silk thread.

I loved how this one turned out. Used an oblong resist.

This was two round resist. This one is calling for some beading, which I will probably do while I'm home recouping from surgery.

Fun, fun day. Nothing better than handing with friends and creating things.

New things I made

I started this quilt so long ago, I can't remember when it was. I hauled it out of my to be finished basket and finished it. I wasn't super happy with some seams so I covered them with yo-yos. I entered it in this year quilt show. I called it Lavender and Lime. I'm happy with the way it turned out.
This is an afghan I crocheted for my granddaughter, Tuesday. She graduated from high school on Monday, May 22nd. I hope she likes it. I thought it turned out pretty cute. I love this ripple pattern. It is easy to follow and makes up quickly. Plus you can use as many colors as you like.

Another Board and Brush Vist

Marian and I joined Taylor, her best friend Jessica and a work friend Jamie at the Board and Brush for another fun afternoon of making signs. I love this place. I wish we had one in Knoxville. It is so much more relaxing than Painting with a Twist. Here are pictures of us working on our boards and our finished projects.
I was helping Marian stick on her stencil.

Marian and waiting for the next step.

Jessica's board. It is a gift for her parents.

 Marian's board.

 Taylor's board.

My board. I added glitter on my sax. I loved the glitter on Jessica's board last time so I decided to try it on mine. It turned out pretty good.

I am so ready to go back and do another board.
