2017 Townsend Fiber Art Festival

I was lucky enough to be able to take three classes at the 2017 Townsend Fiber Art Festival. The first one on Saturday morning was with my friend Nancy Mohrlyn. The teacher was Geri Forkner and it was making vessels using a wet felting technique. I loved the way my turned out. Saturday afternoon, Nancy and I took a Learn to crochet sock class with Jonee Davis. We made one small sock to learn the technique and then she took us around and showed us what yarns would work best to make socks. I'm ready to start on my first pair. Finally on Sunday, I came back alone, and took a Nantucket basket class with Robin Goatey. It was only my second time making a basket on a mold. I ended up buying one of his handmade molds. It was only $49, which I thought was dirt cheap for a handmade mold. I hope to be able to make some baskets during my recovery from back surgery and make some socks too. It was a great weekend of creativity.
